THE HON BILL SHORTEN MP
LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION
SHADOW MINISTER FOR INDIGENOUS AFFAIRS AND
ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDERS
MEMBER FOR MARIBYRNONG
FEDERATION OF NEPALESE COMMUNITY
ASSOCIATIONS OF AUSTRALIA
It gives me great pleasure to send my well wishes to the Federation of Nepalese Community
Associations of Australia, on the occasion of your first national convention.
This wonderful occasion serves as an opportunity for the Nepalese community to revisit
their culture and traditions. It honours the vibrant traditions of a dynamic heritage and
reminds us all of the blessings of our nation’s rich cultural diversity.
Let us use this opportunity to celebrate and give thanks to the Australian-Nepalese
community for the extraordinary contribution they have made to our successful
multicultural nation.
Australia has thrived because of migration. We can see this in our schools, workplaces,
businesses and in our culture.
We are a better, bigger, bolder and smarter country because of the contribution migrants
have made to our nation.
I send my best wishes to all Nepalese communities around Australia, and trust everyone will
have a successful evening.
Yours sincerely,
Bill Shorten
Leader of the Opposition
